NY Law Alerts + Life-Change Nudges
An estate plan goes stale two ways: the law changes, or your life does. This free service watches both. When New York law moves, you get a plain-English alert; when a life milestone approaches, you get a quiet nudge.Quiet when nothing matters.
NY Law Alerts
When New York estate or tax law changes — the exclusion amount moves, Medicaid rules shift, a court procedure is rewritten — we send one plain-English email: what changed, who it affects, and what, if anything, to do about it. The same alert goes out in Spanish and Russian, because clear information shouldn't depend on your first language.
No robo-feed. Alerts only when NY law changes that matter to real plans. If a change doesn't matter to real New York families, we don't write about it. Most months you'll hear nothing from us — and that's the point.
Life-Change Nudges
Law changes aren't the only thing that makes a plan go stale — life does. Our nudges are short, targeted reminders keyed to what's actually happening in your life, not a generic newsletter schedule:
- Time-based: "It's been 3 years since your last review" — with a two-minute way to check whether anything needs updating.
- Life-event: a short annual "has anything changed?" survey — new child, new home, marriage, divorce, a move out of state.
- Law-change: a targeted note that says "this affects you because…" — sent only when a change actually touches your situation.
- Age-based: turning 65 is a natural point to review Medicaid planning and the look-back rules; your youngest child turning 18 changes your guardianship picture.
