Background

Marianna Schwartsman is a trusts and estates attorney admitted to practice in the State of New York. She founded Schwartsman Law Group PLLC after more than a decade at two established New York firms, and the firm practices trusts and estates law exclusively: estate planning, wills and trusts, probate and estate administration, Medicaid and asset protection planning, and estate and gift tax planning for New York and cross-border families.

After graduating from Fordham University School of Law in 2007, Marianna joined the trusts and estates practice of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP in New York City, where she had been a summer associate. Over nine years at Katten she worked on estate and trust administration and on domestic and international estate planning. She later practiced at Meltzer Lippe Goldstein & Breitstone LLP on Long Island, focusing on trusts and estates with an emphasis on income tax and basis planning.

Today she advises individuals, families and business owners on their plans, and represents executors, administrators and trustees through every stage of an estate or trust: probate or administration in the Surrogate's Court, post-mortem tax elections, allocations, distributions and accountings.
