Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Schwartsman Law Group PLLC ("the firm", "we") operates schwartsmanlawgroup.com. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the website collects, why, who sees it and how long we keep it. It applies to this website only, not to information you give us as a client by phone, email or in person, which is covered by the attorney–client relationship and our engagement letter.

What we collect and why

Contact and consultation forms. When you send a form we receive what you type: your name, phone number, email address, the topic and office you choose, your message, your consent choices and the page you were on. The form is stored on the firm's server in encrypted form and emailed to the firm so a lawyer can call you back.

Automated assistant (chat). The chat window is automated software, not a person. Your messages, any name, phone number or email you give, the page you were on, your browser type and the network part of your IP address (the last part is removed before storage) are stored on the firm's server in encrypted form and emailed to the firm. When the assistant runs on a third-party AI model, your messages are sent to that provider (currently Anthropic, OpenAI or xAI, depending on the firm's configuration) to generate a reply; the firm asks these providers not to use the content for training. Please do not share confidential details in the chat.

Plain-English Decoder. If you paste document text into the decoder and tick the consent box, the text is sent to a third-party AI provider to produce a summary. The firm does not store the text afterwards. Do not paste documents that contain information you consider confidential.

Newsletter and downloads. If you ask for a checklist or subscribe, we store your name and email address and send you the download and occasional planning updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Phone clicks. When you tap a phone number on the site, the page records that a call was started (not the call itself, and not your number).

Server logs. Like every website, our server keeps short-lived logs of requests: IP address, browser type, date and time, and the pages requested. We use them to keep the site secure and working, and to limit abuse. Logs are not combined with form or chat data except to investigate an attack.

Cookies and measurement

The site sets no analytics or advertising cookies until you choose to allow them in the consent banner. We load tags through Google Tag Manager (GTM) only when a GTM container ID is configured. Measurement uses Google Consent Mode v2: for visitors in the EEA and the UK, consent defaults are denied (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization) until you opt in; tags wait for your choice before storing cookies. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) measures how the site is used. If you accept marketing cookies, a Google Ads conversion tag (when configured) measures which advertisements lead to a call, a form, or a chat. We do not use a Meta (Facebook) pixel. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. A first-party page counter that stores no personal data runs regardless.

How to opt out. Use the Cookie settings link to withdraw analytics or marketing consent. You can also install Google's browser opt-out add-on for Analytics, or block third-party cookies in your browser. Declining or withdrawing consent does not affect your ability to use the site.

Advertising click identifiers and hashed data. If you arrive from a Google advertisement, your browser may carry a click identifier (such as gclid, gbraid or wbraid) and campaign tags. We store those with your inquiry so we know which advertisement brought you to us. If you become a client and have accepted marketing cookies, we may tell Google Ads that an inquiry from that click became a consultation. To do that we send the click identifier, or a one-way hashed (irreversible) version of the email address or phone number you gave us, never your name, your legal matter or any case details. You may opt out at any time by writing to us.

Who else sees your information

Our hosting provider stores the encrypted website data. Our email provider delivers the messages. Google (Analytics and Ads) receives the measurement data described above. The AI providers named above receive chat and decoder text only. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. We disclose information only when the law requires it.

Retention

Form and chat records are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and to meet the firm's record-keeping obligations under the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, then deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to ms@schwartsmanlaw.com or by mail to any of our offices. We will answer within 30 days. If you are a client, some records must be kept by law even after a deletion request, and we will tell you which.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS. Form, chat and newsletter records are encrypted at rest on the firm's server. Access to the firm's administrative area requires a verified sign-in and a second factor.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

SMS / Text Messaging

If you opt in to text messages, Schwartsman Law Group PLLC will text you about appointments, document requests and case updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Changes

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on this page.
