How Our Automated Assistant Works
How our website's automated intake assistant works: 24/7 in EN/ES/RU, no legal advice or fee quotes, transcripts go to the firm for follow-up.
An Automated Assistant — Not a Lawyer
The chat window on this website is an automated software assistant. We believe you should know exactly what it is, what it can and cannot do, and what happens to the information you give it. This page explains all of it in plain English.
What the Assistant Does
- Answers general questions about the firm — our practice areas, offices, published "from" fee anchors, and how the free consultation works
- Collects intake information — your name, contact details, and a short description of your situation — so an attorney can follow up prepared
- Works in English, Spanish, and Russian, the same three languages our attorneys serve clients in
- Is available 24/7, including nights and weekends when the office is closed
What It Will Never Do
- It does not give legal advice. It will not tell you what you should do in your specific case — only an attorney can, after a consultation.
- It does not cite statutes or case law as authority for your situation.
- It does not quote your fee. It may mention our published "from" starting points, but your exact flat quote comes only from an attorney at your free consultation.
- It does not create an attorney-client relationship. Chatting with the assistant does not make you a client of the firm.
It Is Software — and It Is Labeled as Such
The assistant is clearly labeled as an automated assistant in the chat window and in its first message. It has no name and no job title, it is not a live attorney or staff member, and it never pretends to be one. If anything in a chat seems to conflict with what an attorney later tells you, the attorney's advice controls.
What Happens After a Chat
If you leave your contact details, the transcript is sent to the firm so that a lawyer can follow up with you. Nothing the assistant says is legal advice; what a lawyer at the firm tells you after reviewing your situation controls. The firm is responsible for the tools it uses on this website and is identified on every page (Schwartsman Law Group PLLC, 2102 Avenue Z, Suite 305, Brooklyn, NY 11235, +1 212 518 3868).
How Your Data Is Handled
Chat transcripts are emailed to the firm so we can respond to your inquiry and review the assistant's performance. We do not sell your chat data or your contact information. Chatting with the assistant does not create an attorney–client relationship, so please do not share information you consider confidential (such as account numbers or details you would not want a third party to see) until you have spoken with a lawyer at the firm. See our disclaimer for full website terms.
Reaching a Human Immediately
You never have to use the automated assistant. During business hours, call +1 212 518 3868 and you will reach a person. You can also email ms@schwartsmanlaw.com or ask the assistant at any point to have an attorney contact you — that request goes straight to our team.
Prefer to skip the chat entirely? Call +1 212 518 3868, email ms@schwartsmanlaw.com, or request a free consultation — a real attorney will take it from there.
